The European Commission is inviting citizens and stakeholders across the drone ecosystem to share their views on the future of drones in Europe, as part of the ongoing progress review of the Drone Strategy 2.0.

Adopted in November 2022, the Drone Strategy 2.0 established a vision for a user-centred, innovative and competitive European drone ecosystem capable of delivering economic, societal and security benefits. Since then, the drone and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) landscape has continued to evolve, shaped by rapid technological advances, changing market conditions and new policy developments.

The progress review will assess how the Strategy has been implemented and whether its priorities remain relevant in this evolving environment.

Two ways to contribute

The European Commission has launched two complementary consultations:

  • For citizens: An open public consultation invites citizens to share their views on the use of drones, including the benefits, concerns and expectations they associate with their role in society.

  • For professionals: Manufacturers, operators, service providers, financing institutions, public authorities and other professionals across the drone ecosystem are invited to contribute technical and market perspectives.

The feedback collected through both consultations will contribute to the progress review and help inform future policy development for the European drone sector.
